Resumen

 

ANTECEDENTES: El sesgo de peso internalizado (SPI) se ha asociado consistentemente con la sintomatología de los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA), pero resulta relevante establecer si esta asociación se mantiene al considerar simultáneamente malestar psicológico general e inseguridad alimentaria. OBJETIVO: Examinar la asociación entre el SPI y el riesgo de TCA en adultos chilenos, evaluando su contribución más allá de la edad, los síntomas de depresión, ansiedad y estrés y la inseguridad alimentaria. MÉTODO: Estudio transversal realizado en 111 adultos chilenos. Se aplicaron la WBIS-M, el EDI-3-RF, la DASS-21 y la FIES. Se realizaron análisis de correlación y regresiones lineales múltiples jerárquicas. RESULTADOS: El SPI se asoció significativamente con el riesgo de TCA y sus dimensiones específicas. Su incorporación al bloque final incrementó significativamente la varianza explicada en todos los modelos (ΔR² = .128–.474, todos p < .001), que explicaron entre el 51.5% y el 76.5% de la varianza (R² = .515–.765). CONCLUSIONES: El SPI mostró una contribución incremental significativa a los indicadores de riesgo de TCA más allá de las covariables consideradas. Las elevadas asociaciones con la insatisfacción corporal y la obsesión por la delgadez requieren considerar la proximidad conceptual entre estos constructos.
